The Birdie Song

This short video has been made by Jarbas Agnelli. Reading a newspaper he saw a picture of birds on a wire and as they looked like notes on a sheet of music he was curious to hear what melody the birds were creating (no photoshop editing). This is a video made with the photo, the music and the score (composed by the birds) – it's strangely beautiful don't you think.

My Christmas Fairy

As part of Violet Posy's Christmas Decoration Tour Carnival I wanted to show off my Christmas fairy. When I was little we had lots of these with pink and blue skirts hanging on our tree. I think my mum had them even before I was born so they probably date back to the early Sixties. When we go to her house for Christmas she still hangs them up. 

I think Christmas is all about the nostalgia of childhood. It's fun trying to recreate those memories now for my children – do you agree? 

I smuggled this one out of my mum's house (sorry Mum!)

Cheer up Grumpy

I'm fed up of grumpy people. Why does a little bit of rain turn normally rational people into grumps? Or perhaps it's due to the stress of Christmas. It reminds me of this song my daughter was taught at nursery school for her Christmas play 12 years ago . . .

My favourite advert

This is my favourite ad at the moment - the song is Moi Je Joue by Brigitte Bardot, the model is Maryna Linchuk and it's directed by Sophia Coppola. I want to sing along but when I do it very quickly goes very wrong.

Christmas card idea

I wanted to share this Christmas card with you – I made it a couple of years ago. I had this photo of my gorgeous daughter – she was going to a Bugsy Malone party and I had taken this before she left. I hadn't intended to use it for a Christmas card – the original was quite poor. I turned it sepia in photoshop and then used different filters to get the vintage appearance. To funk it up I decided to add the bright pink lips. The glitter was then added to each card on top of small dollops of PVA.

I haven't a clue what to do this year - there's only three more weeks of school left and I can't seeing me getting the time. I think this year I will save the trees and send an email instead. I know it's not so pretty but something's got to give!
